It became the standard reporting tool for P6 with the release of version 8, and for version 14 of PCM. Automating Baseline Management in Primavera P5 & P6

Speakers: Wendy Kaszycki, LA Unified School District; Daniel Williams, Calance

The Los Angeles Unified School District’s New Construction Division is in the midst of a multi-year $12.6 Billion program to build hundreds of new Elementary, Middle and High Schools. In December 2006, LAUSD implemented Primavera 5.0 for their program schedule by converting over 350 active and completed P3 project schedules. A key feature in 5.0 is the ability to have a project baseline and up to 3 user defined baselines. LAUSD’s process includes progressing the schedules with data dates on the 1st and 16th of every month. Baselines are created from these updates, thus allowing schedule changes to be compared and trended over time. However, maintaining and assigning these baselines can be time consuming. LAUSD solved this by automating the process of creating baselines and assigning them to users. This presentation will provide an overview of the Maintain, Assign and Delete Baseline features in Primavera and how it was automated.
